DP-2 Frequently Asked Questions and Troubleshooting Guide

Unit will not upload
- Plug the vehicle into the download station and try to send a "ping" request to the DVR.
- Check network and cables back to the main server.
- If the LCD / MDT reports "Database rebuild" wait for the process to complete.
- Make sure the DVR and vehicle are paired correctly and are properly configured using DPView.
- Be sure the upload cable is connected to the gigabit upload port on the back of the DVR.
- Check docking services to make sure they are running.
Unit shows "Starting . . ." and DVR continually reboots
- Plug the vehicle into the download station and try to send a "ping" request to the DVR.
- If you have permission, remote into the DVR. If there is no error message, run chkdsk on all drives and reset the DSM.
DVR states "Drives Full"
Upload the DVR completely.
Wireless mic will not sync
- Check that the cradle is properly connected to the "J2" adapter.
- Be sure the microphone has received a full charge as described in the user manual.
- Attempt to sync the transmitter into another cradle. If unsuccessful, the battery may need to be replaced.
Video is stuck in garage status
Check the event logging for the main server and be sure all DP-2 services are started and functioning.
Cannot view a particular officer's video in DPView
Make sure the officer is a member of the "Everyone" group, and that the user logged into DPView is an owner of that group.
DPView displays "Files have been moved or deleted" after user initiates a search
- If you have permission, check that the IP address of the video destination is correct in the preferences table located on the main SWL database.
- Bypass or disable the proxy server if there is one.
DVR randomly starts recording
Play back the video to see which trigger activates the recording. Sensors on the LCD and/or MDT will display in RED if activated.
Video is in Open status
Make sure the vehicle uploads completely.
Files are stuck in FWR
If you have permission, restart the Archive Service.
DVR displays "Overheating" or "Cooling"
Once temperatures are within operating temperature parameters, the DVR will boot into normal operational mode.
DVR was returned from an RMA and it will not upload
Check the DVR configurations using DPView or QuickConfig.
Video on LCD/MDT is in black and white
"Y/C" cable designated color is disconnected. Check front camera connection at the DVR.
No GPS or Speed displayed
Check GPS cable and antenna attached to the vehicle.
Vehicle ID keeps reverting back to the previous setting
Remove the serial number for the old vehicle ID.
No audio on "Export to DVD Author" disks
Use "language" or "audio" control of your DVD player to switch between tracks.
